The Independent

The Independent is a 58-story, 363-unit condo tower at 301 West Avenue, completed in 2019 by CIM Group and Aspen Heights with architecture by Rhode:Partners. Its stacked, offset silhouette earned it the nickname "the Jenga tower" and made it the tallest residential building west of the Mississippi when it opened. Homes range from one-bedroom layouts near 740 square feet to four-bedroom penthouses over 4,000 square feet, all with floor-to-ceiling glass. The amenity program is one of the largest in Austin: two pools, a 9th-floor amenity deck with a catering kitchen and theater, a 34th-floor sky lounge, fitness center, yoga and Pilates studios, dog lounge and run, owners' lounge, children's playroom, business center, and 24-hour concierge. The Seaholm District location puts residents one block from Whole Foods flagship and Trader Joe's, with direct access to the lake via the Pfluger Bridge.
